Competition Overview
One of the world's largest events showcasing skills-based competition and vocational career education
The WorldSkills Competition is a competitive event held every two years that provides the opportunity for Competitors
The competition is intended to promote vocational training and international friendship
among young skilled workers in the participating countries and regions.
The WorldSkills Competition boasts a long history and tradition, dating back to the first competition between Spain and Portugal held in 1950.
Japan became a participating country in 1962.
The competition also offers an opportunity for children to observe and experience exceptional skills at first hand,
making it the perfect occasion to provide vocational career education.

One School One Skill
What is One School One Skill?
One School One Skill (OSOS) is a vocational career education program whereby Competitors from various skills competitions
By experiencing these skills with the instructor, students gain exposure to the possibilities they offer
and learn that everybody has a role to play in shaping the future of these skills.
This initiative originated in Japan, having evolved from the One School One Country Program
launched during the WorldSkills Shizuoka 2007.
